Our Creative Corner Challenge

Hi everyone!!! My card today is for the Our Creative Corner challenge from Saturday. This month Amy is the hostess and her challenge this week was to make a humorous card. Word has it Amy turns 40 this week and needs a few laughs!!! Big happy birthday to you Amy!!! I am now over 40 and it isn't all that bad!!! When I saw the challenge I knew I wanted to use this great image from High Hopes. The very first time I saw this image and every time since, it brings a big smile to my face!!! Don't they look like they are having so much fun!!! This image is called Mans Best Friend. I colored the image using my Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol and blending stumps. The first time I colored this image I wanted to do something with the fringe but for whatever reason didn't do it. This time I wanted to be sure to execute my idea!! I got out my needle and found some thread matching the outfit as close as I could, poked some holes using my paper piercer and started stitching!!! I have been cross stitching for over 20 years now and love doing it, though it has taken a back seat to stamping the last couple of years!!! I decided I wanted to add more stitching and added it around the outside of the image. I matted the image to Dark Chocolate from Papertrey and found some other scraps in my stash that matched the outfit matted and attatched to the main card in Chocolate Chip. Such a fun card to make!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!!
