The Big Easy

Hi everyone!!  Today's card combines 2 challenges that are very similar.  Ted is challenging us to make a one layer card and we can only use stamps or pens, no embellishments, ack!!  Susan's One Layer Wednesday's challenge was to create a scene.  My first thought was my Stampscapes Lakeside Cabin stamp.  This is one of my all time favorites.  I've had it a long time, haven't used it in a while so it was about time!!

Olympic Hello

Hi everyone!! Well I did it, this is the last challenge for the Moxie Fab Olympic challenges, the hello/thinking of you category! I wanted to make a card I could use for either a man or woman, I thought my Pond Life set would fit the bill!! I used my Kaleidacolor Desert Heat ink pad to create a sunset type look on glossy paper. I stamped the images and heat set. I remembered I had this Flying Geese stamp from Stampscapes and thought it went so well!! Initially I was going to score lines in front of and behind the hello but I couldn't get it to look right so I went with piercing!

Thinking of You

This weeks featured stamper on Splitcoast is akronstamperdpk, congratulations Darlene!!! I chose this card to case. Darlene has a large gallery but I kept coming back to this card. I have had this Lakeside Cabin by Stampscapes stamp for a long time and it is one of my all time favorites!! I love the calming feeling it gives. I kept the same basic layout but used a corner punch rather than the photo corner punch, went with monochromatic colors, changed the theme and added paper piercing along the bottom.

Large Cabin

Hi everyone!!! I hope you are having a great week!!! My card today reminds me so much of a cabin my Grandparents used to rent for 2 weeks every summer when I was younger. I have such fond memories of going up to Northern Minnesota, practically living in the lake, going to play bingo with my Grandma and all of the friends I met and were there year after year. The image is Large Cabin from Stampscapes. I colored the image using Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol and blending stumps. The image is attached to a layer of textured cardstock. The designer paper is from Basic Gray, I thought it went so nice with the image. The base card is Dark Chocolate from Papertrey. I know I have said this before but I just LOVE their cardstock, so nice and sturdy for cards!!
