missing you

Hi everyone!  Today I have a card for a few challenges.  First, for this months OWH ODBD challenge, to make a missing you card.  Second, this weeks The Paper Players challenge to make a masculine card.  Lastly today's featured stamper challenge on SCS, this weeks lucky lady is Glitter Me Silly, congratulations Caryn, love your work!!  I chose to CASE this card of Caryn's, I loved the design!!  I changed the theme, used enamel dots and my woodgrain is going a different direction.

I Love You

H everyone!  Today I have a card for this months OWH May ODBD challenge, this month our challenge is embossing.  My card is also for this weeks Freshly Made Sketches challenge.  This sketch was the perfect excuse to use my new Build-able Blooms stamp set and die-namics.  I got this set at the last release but haven't had a chance to use it yet!  I used Blueberry, Blue Breeze and Nightshift Blue on the flowers.  You can't tell in the photo but I added glossy accents to the middle of the flowers and the dot above the j.  The sentiment is from my I Love You More stamp set.  I embossed the main layer with an embossing folder and added a few sequins randomly to finish off the card.

Finishing Strong

Hi everyone!  Today I'm participating in the Operation Write Home Finishing Strong Bloghop.  Operation Write Home, a charity that has supported heroes with handmade cards since 2007, will be closing later this year.  All cards need to be sent in by August 1st, so I'm helping get the word out!

My card was inspired by sketch #159:

I'm really into watercoloring lately so I watercolored the balloon with Fired Brick and Faded Jeans distress inks, I added red white and blue twine and splattered the inks on the main panel.

Just the Way You Are

Hi everyone!  Today I have a card for a couple of challenges.  First MFT's color challenge.  We are to use Nightshift Blue, Summer Splash, Sour Apple and Whip Cream.  Normally I struggle with color challenges and so rarely play in them but I loved these colors together and was able to come up with something I kind of like!  Second, for the latest OWH sketch challenge.  I thought I was going to struggle with it but it came together easy and I had a lot of fun with it!

Hi everyone!  Today I have a card for the latest OWH Sketch challenge.  This is a great sketch, I had a lot of fun with it!  I wanted to get some fathers day cards done this weekend so the timing of the challenge was perfect!  I pulled out a long retired Verve stamp set Father Figure.  It is one of those sets that I will never part with!

Style

Hi everyone!  Today I have a card for a couple of challenges.  First this months OWH Mid Month Throwdown challenge, red white and blue.  Second for this weeks CASology challenge, the cue card is style.  I went with my style for this challenge, CAS of course and cute.  I don't always go that route but it is my preferred way unless I don't have a lot of time :)  I colored this adorable kitty and sentiment from my new I Knead You set.  All of the images make me smile so I had to have it!  I don't know if you can see but I stamped my Paw Prints Background and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  The fishtail panel and little square was cut out using my newest die, Stitched Banner Due Dies, love them!

Hi everyone!  Today I have a card for a few challenges.  First, today's SCS CAS challenge to use ribbon, this months OWH ODBD March challenge, and finally my sketch is from the Clean and Simple Stamping challenge.  I stamped my sentiment from my Avery Elle Oh Happy Day stamp set using Platinum embossing powder and added a few sprinkles that matched the paper.

Cards for Kids

Hi everyone!  Today I have a card for a few of my favorite challenges.  I didn't think I would have another card this week as we were heading out for vacation yesterday but our flight was cancelled and will leave later so I could play!  First my card is for the OWH February Mid-Month Throwdown - Cards for Kids, this weeks CAS(E) this Sketch challenge and finally this weeks Paper Smooches Sparks challenge.  This week our challenge is:

I love the little hats in Noggin Toppers, which came to mind as soon as I saw the Mid-Month Throwdown challenge and of course the Way to Go sentiment from my Sentiment Sampler set was perfect for the theme I thought.

Week 129: NBUS

Hi everyone!  Today I have a card for a couple of challenges, first, the Operation Write Home Sketch challenge and second for this weeks CASology challenge, this weeks cue card is NBUS.  That is the acronym for "Never Been Used Schtuff".  I think all of us card makers have a few things in our arsenal that we had to have that haven't seen any/very little love *wink*.  I chose to use this adorable set from Sugar Pea Designs, Go-pher It.  This set also has some fun sentiments.  I still can't figure out why I haven't used it yet!  This little guy was so much fun to color and add a couple of fun touches!  I added stickles to the diamonds and white enamel accents to his tooth.  Haha!

The Fault in our Stars

Hi everyone!  I have another card today for a few challenges.  First is Kathy's Hope You Can Cling To challenge, "The Fault in our Stars", she would like us to make a card to give to our significant other.  Second is for this weeks Freshly Made Sketches challenge and lastly for this months OWH ODB challenge, to use a heart on our card.  All of these challenges were fun to put together into one card!  I used my MFT Lovey-Dovey Sentiments set, and I finally was able to get my hands on the Paver Red ink.  I've been wanting this color for quite some time and have had the cardstock and ribbon, and now I'm so excited to have the ink!  It is gorgeous and stamps so nicely!

Winter Fun

Hi everyone!  I have a second card today for a couple of challenges, this months Operation Write Home ODB challenge, this month we are to make a card with snowflakes that isn't for Christmas and also for this months Lili of the Valley Anything Goes challenge.  I'm just making it under the wire for both challenges but so happy I was able to play along with both of them, they were a lot of fun!  I used my James-Snow Bear stamp, love him!  I added Wink of Stella in the areas around his arms and lets, added black enamel accents to his eyes and nose, Liquid Applique on the area around his arms and lets and around him as snowflakes.

World Card Making Day 14

Hi everyone!  Happy World Card Making Day!  My card is for a few challenges, this weeks CAS(E) this Sketch challenge, Operation Write Home's World Card Making Day challenge to create a love card and finally My Favorite Things World Card Making Day festivities via social media!  I was looking at my washi tape for the CAS(E) challenge, I thought this pattern would go perfectly with this sentiment from MFT's Journal It - For the Record set.  Initially I was only going to use a few raspberry sequins but the tiny rhinestones jumped out at me too and I though they would be a fun addition!

OWH Memorial Day Hop!

Hi everyone!!  I'm excited to be joining in on the Operation Write Hope Memorial Day Bloghop for the first time!!  Thank you so much to the men and women that serve/have served our country and the sacrifices you make every day.

Here is my version:

I love this super cute Party Koala image for the birthday theme.  It was a lot of fun to use the red white and blue theme on this card.  I went around the inside lines of the Koala with my Copic W1 and the outisde with my B000 copic.  I added Glossy Accents to the balloons and White Opal Liquid Pearls to the dots on the party hat.

For my second card I used sketch #9:

As soon as I saw this Kitschy Kitchen set I had to have it, it is going to make so many fun love cards for our heroes!  These salt and pepper shaker and the sentiment are my favorite from the set.

May Flowers

Hi everyone!  There are a few May/Spring flower challenges out there that I thought would be fun to join in!  First for Simon Says Wednesday Spring Flowers challenge and second for the OWH Midweek Throwdown May Flowers challenge.  I just love this new Penny Black Modest die, it is so delicate and pretty!  The top layer is up with pop dots and the layer underneath is Washi Tape, I don't have any polka dot paper and I thought it was perfect with the die!  I don't think you can see well but I did use my Stampin Up Hardwood background stamp heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

Thinking of You

Hi everyone!  As I mentioned yesterday, I'm back with another version of this weeks Freshly Made Sketches challenge!  My card is also for this weeks Midweek Throwdown challenge on the OWH blog, to make a masculine thinking of you card.  I thought the tree fit into the rounded shape on the sketch challenge.  I'm still not sure if I like the twine over the die cut but I think it would be too putsy for pop dots on the branches.

Hi everyone!  Today I have a card for the CAS challenge on SCS, to use stars, the Operation Write Home Midweek Throwdown challenge, to use brown and for the CAS-ual Friday's challenge, Three Thirds.  For my 3's I used 3 shades of brown and 3 stars.  I was going to try to use another chevron strip but it didn't look right, I like the sentiment placed a little lower.

Arrow

Hi everyone!!  Today I have a card for the Operation Write Home bootcamp and this weeks CAS-ology challenge.  This weeks cue card is arrow.  I knew right away I wanted to use my fun wood veneer arrows.  I wanted it more masculine and wanted to use ivory cardstock but I knew I needed something else because I thought it would look too boring.  I decided to use red embossing powder and add the red button.  Then at the last minute I got this idea to run a red marker around the edges of the top layer, then the trouble started.  Everything was done, just needed to be applied to the main layer.  I got off track and got the red marker on the front of the cardstock.  Grrrrr....  I had to start all over!  Then of course nothing would go right and I wasted lots of paper!  But it's done now, seems a little boring but I'm not doing anything else, ha!!
