X-Stitch Birthday

Hi everyone!  Today I have a card for this weeks Freshly Made Sketches challenge.  I thought it was a great sketch, but I had to work hard for it!  LOL!!  I just received this new stamp set, Stitched Roses from Waffle Flower.  I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it, besides stamping, I am a cross stitcher and have been for many many years, so of course I had to have it!  I didn't have trouble lining things up, but the acetate sheet moved on me a few times, which of course I didn't notice until I had already stamped so I wasted a few sheets of paper!  The sentiment is from Simon Says "It's Your Birthday!" set which I thought went perfect with the roses!
I hope you enjoy and thanks so much for stopping by today!

FS527

Hi everyone!  Today I have a card for this weeks Featured Stamper challenge on Splitcoast.  This week the lucky lady is bubblestx4, congratulations Linda!  I chose to CASE this card, changing the colors and the theme.  I also just stamped one image and added some Nuvo.  I was able to play with my new Clarity Stencil Brushes for this card.  They are so fun to play with!  I used Carved Pumpkin, Gathered Twigs, Mustard Seed and Wild Honey distressed inks, as I was going for a masculine look.  After I brushed the ink, I spritzed with water and spread it a little for a little more of a blend with the brush.
I hope you enjoy and thanks so much for stopping by today!

thanks

Hi everyone!  Today I have a card for this weeks CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.  They've added a fun little twist this week, CAS(E) for a Cause.  If you choose to, you can make and send cards to Feline Creative.  I'm hoping to get a few made over the next few days and send to them!  They are looking mainly for general and thank you themed pet cards.  I had a lot of fun making this card mixing and matching products!  The heart die with the paw is from My Favorite Things, the fan die is from Simon Says Stamp, the thanks die is from Little B and the so very much is from Wplus9.
I hope you enjoy and thanks so much for stopping by today!

Hi everyone!  Today I have a card for Nancy's SCS Dare to Get Dirty challenge.  Oh how I love to play with embossing paste and stencils!  This stencil is from my new Simon Says kit, Seeing Stars.  I spread embossing paste on this fun firework stencil and added glitter.  White it was drying I added the sentiment, from the same kit, heated with silver embossing powder, then added a star and circle sequins.  They seemed to finish off the card nicely.  The panel is up on fun foam.
I hope you enjoy and thanks so much for stopping by today!

Edna15A

Hi everyone!  Today I have a card for Edna's SCS Dare to Get Dirty challenge.  I've been stumped or struggled a bit with some of the challenges this week but I've been having a ton of fun!  This is one of those cards that ideas kept coming as I was working along and I really like the end result.  I used my Instant Camera die from Little Inker Designs to make a little scene.  I sprinkled a lighter blue and darker blue Brusho on watercolor paper to try to give the lighter to darker ocean feel but it didn't work out like I thought it would.  I then took a piece of paper, ripped it, rubbed my Versamark pad over it and heat embossed with Sand embossing powder.  Part of the sailboat was cut out with silver paper, I stamped the sails with my Pinstripe Background stamp and popped the boat up.  I then grabbed my stencil that looks like waves to me, mixed Brusho with embossing paste and spread over the paper.  Not my normal style but so much fun to make!
I hope you enjoy and thanks so much for stopping by today!

Hi everyone!  Today I have a card for my SCS Dare to Get Dirty challenge!  For some reason I was in a bit of a funk and couldn't come up with a whole lot for my challenge, I'm ok with how it turned out, I was just hoping for more of a wow card!  I used my MFT Pinstripe Background and Simon Says Stamp Birthday Bits stamp sets.  The sentiment was heat embossed and the little wooden stars were added to finish off the card.
I hope you enjoy and thanks so much for stopping by today!

Hi everyone!  Today I have a card for Tabbatha's SCS Dare to Get Dirty challenge.  Just last week I received my new Simon Says Stamp kit, Seeing Stars.  I am so in love with this set!!  So much fun!!  I've not done any of the galaxy techniques I've seen and I didn't have a lot of time when making this card so I had to go with a quick version.  I started out by stamping in Versamark and heat embossed with clear embossing power.  I used Chipped Sapphire and Seedless Preserves Distress inks, spritzed with water to blend and then added larger droplets.  I added fun foam to the watercolor panel for dimension.  I really like how this card turned out and it was so much fun to make!
I hope you enjoy and thanks so much for looking!!

Hi everyone!  Today I have a card for a SCS Dare to Get Dirty challenge hosted by Vicki!  I LOVE this Vintage Flowers stamp set from Lil' Inker Designs.  The flower images are just gorgeous and I think stamped with colored ink they stand alone so beautifully!  Though I did throw around coloring them, I chose to use my Brutus Monroe chalk inks (LOVE those!!).  I think the flowers look so pretty!  I used my Antique Linen and Vintage Photo Distress inks and ran them around the panel for a more aged look.  The sentiment is from my Simon Says Happy Birthday set, the font seemed perfect with the flowers!
I hope you enjoy and thanks so much for stopping by today!

I'm back again with another card for today's Dare to Get Dirty challenges!  For this card I got my fingers very inky!  I sponged Twisted Citron, Seedless Preserves, Mustard Seed and Salty Ocean distress inks and sprayed them with my Tim Holtz sprayer.  I love how this came out!  The colors didn't blend as much as I thought they would and I resisted temptation to add larger water drops because as it was drying I thought it was so cool!  I used my Simon Says Painted Happy Birthday dies, cut out in black and added glossy accents.  I added some Pretty Pink Posh Droplets and popped the panel up to finish the card.
I hope you enjoy and thanks so much for stopping by today!

Emboss It

Hi everyone!  Today I have a card for this weeks Simon Says Monday challenge.  This weeks challenge is Emboss It.  I took a piece of watercolor paper and painted it with my Koi Watercolors, while it was drying I cut out my Memory Box Willoughby butterfly die and antennae in charcoal and cut the bottom using my Simon Says Wavy Scallop Stitches die.  I heat embossed the sentiment from my Simon Says It's Your Birthday in Zing charcoal embossing powder.  The top layer is up with craft foam.
I hope you enjoy and thanks so much for stopping by today!

Our Thoughts

Hi everyone!  Today I have a card for this weeks CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.  I knew what I wanted to do as soon as I saw the sketch.  That doesn't happen very often lately!  It was a quick card to make too!!  I started out with my Die-Namics Stitched Strip, then  I used my Hero Arts Prayers stamp set and dies to cut out the prayer.  I cut it out 3 times for dimension, stamped the other two greetings using Versafine Onyx black in.  I added a few random gems and the top panel is up on pop dots.
I hope you enjoy and thanks so much for stopping by today!

Big Blooms

Hi everyone!  Today I have a card for a few challenges.  First, this weeks The Paper Players challenge, to make a CAS celebrate Spring card.  Second, this weeks Freshly Made Sketches challenge and finally, Merla's Brand New VSN challenge on SCS.  I purchased this stamp set during Simon Says Stamp's Stamptember which was last September and I finally used it!  I love this Big Bloom, it is so pretty!  I colored it with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and thought it went good for The Paper Players spring challenge, we are all looking forward to the pretty flowers aren't we? :)  The sketch was tricky for me until I chose the flower.
I hope you enjoy, thanks so much for stopping by today!

Doodle

Hi everyone!  Today I have a card for this weeks CASology challenge and Sabrina's Brighten the Grey VSN challenge on SCS.  This weeks cue card is Doodle.  I used my Simon Says Stamp Birthday Bits set.  The handwritten sentiment and the balloons are like doodles to me and I though it would be perfect for the challenge.  Sabrina wants us to use mostly grey and a touch of yellow in our card.  The card was missing something with just the balloons and sentiment so I added a few star sequins as I wanted the card to stay masculine.
I hope you enjoy and thanks so much for looking!

Take a Leap Into the Unknown

Hi everyone!  Today I have a card for this weeks Simon Says Monday challenge.  This week the challenge is Take A Leap Into the Unknown.  For my card I chose to try a new technique that I've been wanting to by Karen.  The tutorial is located here on her blog.  Super easy and the color combos are endless!  I used Antique Linen, Gathered Twigs, Rusty Hinge and  Chipped Sapphire.  Love how it turned out and can't wait to make more backgrounds!  I wanted the woodgrain to be the star of the show so I used this sentiment from Impression Obsession.
I hope you enjoy and thanks so much for stopping by today!

I love you

Hi everyone!  Today I have a card for this weeks CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.   This sketch was perfect for my new Stacked Hearts die from Simon Says Stamp.  I had to wait quite a while for this die but it was worth the wait, I love it, so pretty!  I cut them out 3 times for dimension.  I wanted to go with a little different color so I went with Brick Red from MFT and Whip Cream.  That isn't too much different from my norm, lol!  The sentiment is from MFT's Keep on Rockin set and I added a wood heart to finish off the card.
I hope you enjoy and thanks so much for stopping by today!

Stencil It

Hi everyone!  Today I have a card for this weeks Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge.  This week the challenge is Stencil it.  I started out by mixing embossing paste and Dark Brown Brushes, I spread the mixture over the stencil.  I shouldn't have mixed it up so much, in the Dark Brown Brushos there are so many colors!  I cut out my Impression Obsession Wheat die with Brown Paper Bag cardstock and loosely attaching to the embossing paste.  I wanted a little dimension with the wheat popping up a bit.  Finally I stamped the sentiment from my Simon Says It's Your Birthday set to finish the card.
I hope you enjoy and thanks so much for stopping by today!

Ombre Birthday

Hi everyone! Today I have a card for the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge.  This week the challenge is ombre!  Love ombre so I couldn't wait to dig through some boxes to find some inks and get my fingers dirty!  I used Antique Linen, Vintage Photo, Gathered Twigs and Walnut stain.  Several layers were added to achieve the look I wanted.  I dried the ink with my heat gun and dropped water, let it soak in some (more at the top) and hit it with the heat gun again.  The happy birthday was stamped from my Friendship Messages set with Platinum embossing powder and finally added a few Doodlebug enamel dots.
I hope you enjoy and thanks so much for stopping by today!
