Sping is in the Air

Hi everyone! I combined 3 fun challenges for today's card! I used the Card Positioning Systems sketch challenge along with a color challenge on Nichole's blog, using Lisa's colors, Kraft, Dark Chocolate, Sweet Blush and Vintage Cream and combined it with her first Poppy Seed challenge, to use "seeds" in our card! My Text Boxed and Turning a New Leaf set were perfect for the sketch and I added some rhinestones in the center of the flowers for Lisa's challenge!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hi everyone!! I'm back again, this time for the embellishment sheet contest Nichole has issued today. Have you seen all of the fantastic sets being released on the 15th? WOW!! I thought I had my list made, but after this mornings
post, I'm not sure sure and there is another post tonight/tomorrow morning!

Hubs and I had a car club meeting today, afterward we stopped at an antique store so I could pick up a book just to make them. They are so much fun and easy!!! They really didn't take long to make either, I did all 6 at the same time. Don't you just love the sentiment?! It is from the Blooming Button Bit set, it will be fun to send this to someone to just say hi!!

Kim's colors are Kraft, Spring Moss, Dark Chocolate and Ocean Tides. I thought it would be fun to do something a little different, I stamped the flowers in my glue pad and added glitter. Paint by Number

Hi everyone!! Nichole is continuing the Papertrey anniversary with another fun challenge!! Today she is challenging us to a sketch and paint by number!! We are to use the first letter of our online user name to determine our color palette. Mine is white, raspberry fizz, orange zest, terracotta tile and ripe avocado. The color that scared me in this was the raspberry fizz since it is so bright. Turns out I really like it against the terracotta! Not a combo I would ever think of! I hope you have time to participate, there is a great prize!!

I had to pull out my Blooming Button Bits for this challenge, I am so ready for spring and pretty flowers!! I thought Polka Dots Basics II would be fun for a background on this card and in applying the ink around the flowers, I did like Nichole and sponged a light and dark color!

Featured Scrap-tastic

Hi everyone!!! I cannot tell you how happy I am that this card is finally done!! Typically when I go to stamp, I start and finish all in one sitting! Well a couple of nights ago I couldn't sleep and I had been thinking about Nichole's Scrap-tastic challenge so I decided to get up and get started. That was a waste of time, I was not happy at all!! I've been thinking about that since. I think my problem was a I was set on a particular idea and couldn't let it go! So, last night I checked out the featured stamper, this week it is ardodd, congrats Ann!!! There were several I took a close look at and was going to case, but when I came across this card, I knew it was the one I wanted to case, it was similar to the idea I had in my head, yea!!! Everything finally came together then!! Whew!!!

It sure feels good to have my mind thinking in the creative mode again!!! Though I think I am a little rusty, lol, sure didn't take long did it?!
There were several challenges I wanted to participate in and I was successful!!! And for the first time ever, I made a 4 challenge card!!!! The sketch is from Cami this week, the colors are from Dawn's color challenge, today's inspiration challenge on Splitcoast, here is the inspiration piece I chose and finally this weeks PTI supply challenge to use buttons!! All of these challenges were so much fun and I am so glad it all came together so well!!!!
I need to scoot, unpack more boxes and find the "perfect" place for things!!

Love Lifts Us Up

I decided to check out the challenge on the Papertrey Forum and it was to use the new colors Melon Berry and New Leaf. I'm in!!! These brand new colors are wonderful, I love them!!! I wanted to use my set Love Songs for the challenge, it is such a fun set!!! Tomorrow my hubs and I will celebrate out 16th wedding anniversary and I am considering giving this card to him. I didn't want to make it too frilly, just in case!! LOL!!! Each balloon and string is stamped in the new colors. I cut the image panel out with my Curved Rectangle Nestabilites. I then took the xo stamp, stamped it in New Leaf on New Leaf cardstock and cut it out using a larger size Curved Rectangle Nestability. I then ran the New Leaf Grosgrain ribbon around the panel and attached to the base card with dimentionals. The image panel is added also using dimentionals. I added the hemp twine and tied in a knot through the button holes. This card was a bit of a challenge, I wanted to add sparkle and bling, but kept it simple!!!

PTI's Dawn Challenge

I had to participate in today's challenge that Nichole posted. The challenge was to choose a card that Dawn made where the colors inspired you and are different from what you typically use. I chose this first card she made. I loved the browns and the pop of green!! Not a combo I would reach for and I don't think I have ever used that combo!! I LOVE it!!! I chose to use my Birds of a Feather set, I love PTI but I think this is one of my very favorite sets. I stamped the eggs and nest twice, the second time I embossed and cut the images out, attaching with dimentionals. The Very Vanilla image was cut out using my circle Nestabilites, I then cut out a piece of Wild Wasabi using my pinking Nestabilites and the bottom layer was cut out using a larger size circle Nestability in Dark Chocolate. The base card is Kraft cardstock, I also ran a smaller piece through my Cuttlebug using my Bird Call embossing folder. I stamped the "New Beginnings" sentiment and embossed that as well at the top. I attached that layer to a layer of Wild Wasabi and punched a whole under the nest and ran Wild Wasabi ribbon through and tied in a bow. I attached those 2 layers to Dark Chocolate. This color combination is so pretty, I really like it and plan on using it again!!!
Tonight PTI is having a release party and at midnight et all the new sets will be available for sale!!!
Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

Friends & Mojo

I was able to make another double challenge card!! You know I love to do that!! Today's challenge on Nichole's blog was to make a card for your best friend!! I wasn't too sure what I wanted to do until I saw the Mojo challenge, what a great sketch!! I used my Quilters Sampler Additions set, I LOVE both of them! I colored the images with my Copic markers on Papertrey White select. I added the image panel to a piece of Dark Chocolate. The panel below is a piece of Sweet Blush run through my Cuttlebug using my Distressed Stripes embossing folder and attached to a piece of Dark Chocolate. I then ran a piece of Ocean Tides through my Cuttlebug again using my Distressed Stripes embossing folder and attaching to a piece of Dark Chocolate. I used Dark Chocolate Twill and ran it around the 2 larger layers but under the image layer and attached a Making Memories brad. The little sentiment is from Papertrey's Mixed Messages set. I think of all the sets I have, this is my most used!! I attached another brad, I like how they kind of match the flowers in the image!!

PTI Bitty Dots Challenge

Hi everyone!! My card is for Nichole's Bitty Dots challenge. What a fun challenge!!! I decided to make a birthday card using 2 of Papertey's sets, It's a Celebration and Birthday Basics. After just using the Ocean Tides color, I really wanted to use it again!! It is so pretty!! I started out by

stamping the bottom portion of the cupcake in Ocean Tides, I chose the frosting with the dots to go along with the theme of the challenge (hehe) and stamped it in Dark Choloate. I then used my smallest SU! circle punch, I punched out a larger circle in Ocean Tides and for the scallop layer I used my scallop circle Nestabilites and cut out with Dark Chocolate. I then stamped the image with Ocean Tides on Papertrey White Select and cut that panel out with my rectangle Nestabilites. The Ocean Tides layer was cut out using my scallop rectangle Nestabilites and then I cut out a piece of Dark Chocolate to fit. I then cut 2 strips of Ocean Tides satin ribbon and 1 of Dark Chocolate satin ribbon, I thought that would be something different than cardstock. I added Pebbles Brown Candy Dots, love those, they are so fun and fit in so nice!! The base card is Dark Chocolate with a layer of Ocean Tides and Papertrey White Select. Quick easy card!!

Papertrey Color Challenge

Hi everyone!!! Today's card is for the color challenge Nichole posted on her blog for the Papertrey celebration!! The colors we were to use were Pure Poppy, Ocean Tides, Summer Sunrise and Ripe Olive. What a beautiful color combo!! I LOVE Papertrey's colors, they are so yummy!!! I decided to use my Women of Life set, it makes such beautiful, easy and quick cards!! The flower stems are separate from the flowers so I first stamped the flowers using Pure Poppy and then the stems and leaves in Ripe Olive. For the middle of the large flowers I used Ocean tides and the smaller ones Summer Sunrise. I also stamped the sentiment in Ocean Tides. I don't think I have a favorite PTI color, they are all gorgeous!! To finish the card off I used my brand new Martha Stewart Floral Lace Edge punch. I had a coupon so I couldn't resist!! This is a beautiful punch, it adds so much to a simple card!!!
I plan on working on lots more challenge cards so I will probably have multiple posts over the weekend!!!

It's In The Bag

Hi everyone!!! Papertrey is celebrating their second birthday with lots of announcements, chances to win lots of stuff and challenges!!! The challenge for Thursday was to make some type of bag. I don't make these too often, I really need to because they are so fun!! I went to the Resources section on Splitcoast for some inspiration and decided on this Double Pocket bag to make. It was fast and easy!! There wasn't any indication on the paper where it is from and I have had it for quite some time. After I put the bag together, I took out a set that I haven't used in a while!! My Punny Valentine from Papertrey, I really like this set, it is so fun!! I first stamped the pie pan in Pure Poppy, the pie and sentiment were stamped in Dark Chocolate. I cut the image out using my heat Nestabilites. I then cut the next size up using Dark Chocolate cardstock. It still looked boring so I dug through my stash and decided to use my Kaiser Chocolate pearls. I think it turned out kind of fun!!!
