Dirty Dare Tuesday

Hello!!! Another great day of Dirty Dare challenges on Splitcoast today!! There were a total of 3 challenges but I was only able to get 2 done. I will be making a point to get to the third hopefully tomorrow evening!!! Michelle hosted the first challenge I participated in which was to create a masculine card. I really like making these types of cards!!! I always think of distressing when creating them! I decided to use my Pond Life set from Papertrey for this challenge. I so love this set, it was the duck that sold me!! I started out by stamping the water ring and sponging below using Prussian Blue Palette ink. I then stamped the reeds and cattail stems using Jardin Moss Palette ink. I thought these colors were so pretty for this scene!! The duck and cattails were stamped in Adirondak Espresso ink. I cut a separate duck and wing and popped up with pop dots. I applied glue and Fun Flock to the cattails. I love the effect the Fun Flock gives!!! I used my Birthday Basics set for the happy birthday sentiment at the top. I distressed around the edges and ran the brown and blue ink pads along the sides. I then took Close to Cocoa ribbon and looped it around in the back. The main card is Close to Cocoa cardstock, I used the Houndstooth background stamp from Stampin Up, using the Adirondak Espresso ink. I did not do a very good job of covering the entire cardstock but I did like how it turned out, I thought it added more to the masculine feel of the card!!

For the second challenge Julie was the hostess and she challenged us to make a simple white card. So often I forget about the simple cards!! It took me a while to figure out what to do for this challenge but this idea came to me while at dinner with hubs!! This image and sentiment are from Gina K's set Make a Wish. This is a wonderful and fun set!! My inspiration started with the ribbon from Making Memories. I colored all the stars using my Stampin Up markers trying to closely match the colors. I pierced along the outside using this star template I purchased from Gina K. I really like to paper piece and this is a great template for this image!! I got these really fun embellishments from Taylored Expressions, Taylor's Tiny Twinkles and I just love them!!!! Adds a nice bit of sparkle!!
