Wednesday Dirty Dare Challenges

Hi there!!!! Another day of great challenges for the Splitcoast Dirty Dare '08!!! However I was not able to get to both of today's challenges, I did one from yesterday that I missed and one for today. I am sure I would have gotten the three done but I wrecked my paper cutter!!! I put too many pieces of paper in and nicked up the blade!!! There aren't any replacement blades available. I am pretty upset with myself!!! It even says on the cutter not to use more than 2 pieces of paper. I have pushed it with 3 with no problem but I went the extra today to 4 and really messed it up!!! Hubs tried fixing it but the paper cuts so jagged there is no hope!!!
Enough of that!!! Onto the cards for today!!

My first card is for Jenn's challenge for today. She had a absolutely beautiful inspiration piece to follow. The piece was more black and white with a splash of green. This card went a completely different direction from the idea I originally had. I tried a couple of different things but it wasn't working. I used my Papertrey set Guide Lines which I just love for all the different possibilities!!! I started with my card base and worked down, normally I work upward from the main image. I cut black layer, the green is actually a piece of white that I stamped with Pearlescent Lime Brilliance ink, another layer of black and then the main image. I stamped the lines in the Pearlescent Lime and the circles in Palette black ink. This wonderful ribbon I received from my friend Lena through the Wish RAK a while back.

My next card was for Christine's challenge yesterday to watercolor. I have not watercolored in a while so I was excited about this challenge!!! I used my brand new stamp from High Hopes called Pansy Arrangement. What a beautiful stamp this is!!! I used my watercolor crayons and colored small spots on the leaves and flowers and then used my Aqua painter to pull the color out. I have not used my watercolor crayons this way before, but I think I will, I really like how it turned out and with time I will get better!!! I used my ticket corner punch on the main image and attached it to Papertrey's Plum Pudding cardstock. I then attached some of my new Taylor's Tiny Twinkles, I just love those little things!!! I wrapped the Plum pudding ribbon around the card base and above the dp. The card base is Certainly Celery. I am sorry I don't know who made this pretty dp, I cut it off some time back!!
Thanks so much for stopping by!!

  3. Sorry to hear about your paper cutter. I've done that before, too. If you're looking for a new one, you should check out the Paper Cutter Store. That's where I got mine.
